CCCIL promotes the independence of people with disabilities by supporting their equal and full participation in life. CCCIL provides advocacy, education, and support to people with disabilities, their families, and the community. We’re one of a nationwide network of Centers for Independent Living whose philosophy is that we who have disabilities have the right to control our lives and make our own choices.

What is Assistive Technology? Assistive Technology (AT) includes devices, products, and services that allow people with disabilities to move freely, obtain jobs, and maintain their independence. These include such items as eyeglasses, hearing aids, wheelchairs and ramps, communication devices, specialized computer software, and assistance dogs.
Device Lending and Demonstration Center
CCCIL is one of twelve device lending and demonstration centers in the state of California that provides short term loans of assistive devices and gadgets that can help consumers live independently. CCCIL has a variety of devices to choose from ranging from easy to use “low-tech” to more advanced “high-tech” devices.
